 "Autumn Crow(n)"

Glenn Felch’s whimsical watercolor paintings inspired by the pernicious presence of Belfast's crow population will be on display in the Kramer Gallery of the Belfast Free Library for the month of February. Adding to the viewers enjoyment the paintings have titles that light-heartedly make a play on words "Acro(w)bat", "Cro(w)quet" as well as the title of the exhibit “A-crow-pella.”

For the last two years Glenn and his wife Judith have been part-time residents of Belfast and have enjoyed sampling the varied seasons. Throughout the fall of 2008, Glenn was particularly amused by the activity of 8-9 crows whose territory included his backyard and neighboring Wales Park. During his many walks through town, he noticed how the crows, silhouetted against the splash of autumn colors, provided distinct punctuation marks to the luminescent townscapes. The paintings are a playful reprieve from Felch's more serious art.
