Youth Policies
The children's collection at the Belfast Free Library includes books, magazines, videos, audiocassettes, and book and cassette sets. There are approximately 10,000 items in the children's collection. Any child in Waldo County under the age of 18 may have a free library card. A parent or guardian must sign the registration form for the card. DVDs, videocassettes, and magazines may be borrowed for 1 week. All other material may be borrowed for 3 weeks. There are no overdue fines on material from the children's collection. Computers are available on the children's floor for use by children under the age of 12. Children 12 and older may use the young adult computers on the 1st floor, with their parent's permission. Children are asked to sign-up for half hour time slots. About our Children's Services
